Talbot County Soil Survey Update

The updated Talbot County Soil Survey is scheduled to be certified for up-loading to the internet (NRCS Web Soil Survey) this summer. Currently the 1970 report is available on the web, with only the interpretation and soil properties tables. With the final correlation and certification, the new updated information will available on the internet This will include the soil maps with aerial photo background along with updated interpretation and soil properties tables. You will be able to generate a custom report showing your "area of interest" (soil map) along with only the tables and information you request.
This spring and early summer, final compilation is being conducted on the soil survey updated digital polygons (soil delineations). Most of the polygons have been attributed (assigned a map unit symbol) and checked for digital errors. Minor revisions will be soon completed on the existing line work. New hydrology (streams and drainage lines) will be available per request. The new update soil survey will also be available on CD's as a PDF file.
